Evelyn Murphy and E.J. Graff, coauthors of Getting Even: Why Women Don't Get Paid Like Men and What to Do About It, provide an excellent overview of the wage gap between women and men in this article. Though a little dated, Murphy and Graff point out that women only earn 77 cents on the dollar for what their male counterparts earn.
